| #1 - SD Slammers |
| The Slammers (2-0) remain the top-ranked team heading into the month of May with a 15-14 come-from-behind win over the Shockers on Sunday, April 17 at Bellbrook H.S. The Slammers took a late lead with the help of PJ Dixon's two-out RBI double in the bottom of the eighth and followed up by a two-run HR by Kevin Ashworth. The Slammers bullpen faltered in the ninth allowing a 5-run rally by the Shockers. But, in the end, it was a 3-run walk-off blast by captain Rick Anderson that continued the Slammers hot start to the season. |
| #2 - Dayton Rangers |
| The Rangers (1-0) matchup with the Fairborn Athletics was washed out on Sunday, so they look to build on their 22-run Opening Day outburst with a twin bill against the up-and-coming Dayton Tigers at Greeneview H.S. on May 1. The Rangers have won all 11 matchups with the former Dragons squad, but a new name and a new attitude could give the Rangers a run for the money, as the Tigers held their own against the Slammers on Opening Day. |
| #3 - Camden Redlegs |
| The Redlegs (1-0) split-doubleheader was a rainout as well and will now lock horns with the defending champion Royals on May 1 at Oak Grove Park. The MVABL's game of the week features two teams with gobs of pitching, and both squads are tough to strikeout and will put the ball in play. Whomever has the best defense should win this ballgame..unless of course Oak Grove sustains another 30-mph wind gust, then all bets are off the table. |
| #4 - Fairborn Post 526 A's |
| The Post 526 Athletics (1-0) will get their first taste of a split DH as they host both the Blue Jays and Cardinals on May 1 at Fairfield Park in Fairborn. The Jays and the Cards have enough young talent to compete, but they may have their hands full with this surprising rookie team. Should be an exciting 18 innings of baseball!! |
| #5 - Kettering Royals |
| The Royals (2-1), obviously miffed at a sudden drop in rankings in Week 2, took their frustrations out on the Miami Valley Thunder on Sunday, April 17th at AIA. The Boys in Blue outscored the Thunder 27-5 in two games, as veteran Kevin Reynolds led the charge with an inside-the-park HR in game 1 and a complete game two-hitter in game 2. The Royals will look to jump back up in the rankings as they pair up against the No. 3 Redlegs on May 1. |
