5/08/11: WEEK 4 RECAPS

WEEK 4 RECAPS
AIA Provides Much Action

The top-ranked Slammers spotted the Indians 11 runs in the first inning, which was too much to overcome with Tribe right-hander Matt Spradlin on the hill. Spradlin struck out 8 in the complete game 14-2 win. Aaron Lawson and Bill Rockwell homered in the win for the 3-0 Indians.
The Cardinals jumped out early on the Redlegs with the help of a 3-run HR from Jake Wilson. But the Camden club plated seven runs in the sixth inning to take its first lead of the game, and Kevin Campbell was able to lock down his first MVABL win in a 14-7 victory.
Will Howard overpowered the Rangers in an 11-3 victory for the Blue Jays, who have now won 3 straight. Brian Bay's two-out two-run double broke open a tight game in the fourth inning, as the Jays took advantage of five Rangers' miscues.
Joey Watson pitched 5 innings of no-hit baseball before running into trouble in the sixth. Watson set down 13 Bats' batters on strikes and added a 3-run HR off the AIA scoreboard. Tony Petro pitched a perfect 7th and 8th to get the Athletics back to .500.
