Outlaws Gun Down Rangers

After a couple of weeks off, the Rangers looked bewildered as they took the field Sunday against the Kettering Outlaws. A big 10-run inning keyed the Outlaws to a 19-6 victory.

Jeremy Lippincott made his first start for the Rangers in over three years and was the tough luck loser. Lip pitched two innings and gave up three runs and struck out five. The Outlaws sent rookie righthander Jason Benkert to the mound. Benkert fresh off an impressive season with Sinclair Community College, retired the first 9 batters before giving up two runs in his final two innings of work.

The Outlaws held a 13-0 lead before the Rangers found homeplate. Jelani Arnold led off the fourth with a hit to right and scored on an RBI single by Clint Wolf. Jeremy hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield in the fifth inning to make the score 14-2. Brent Collinsworth and James Robinson drove in runs in the 6th. And Clint Wolf added two more RBIs to his stat total with a two-run double in the seventh.
