STATEN HONORED AS P.O.W. 7th different Ranger to win award since 2007 The Miami Valley Adult Baseball League recognized first baseman Joe Staten from the Dayton Rangers as the Milano's/Buffalo Wild Wings Player of the Week for May 22-28. In a doubleheader split with the South Dayton Slammers on May 22, Staten registered six hits, including two home runs and a double, scored four runs and recorded four RBIs. Joe is a 1996 graduate of West Carrollton high school, and he played collegiately at Sinclair Community College.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK Cherry notches first W in 2011     Warren County Shockers pitcher Jeff Cherry tossed a complete game shutout against the Miami Valley Bats on Sunday, May 22, scattering three hits and striking out six. With the victory, Cherry stands alone at 10th all-time in the MVABL in career wins with 16.
