Schmitt first 400-400 member
Congratulations to Rangers pitcher Shawn Schmitt on becoming the first hurler in league history to surpass 400 innings pitched and 400 strikeouts. Shawn went 5 innings and struck out 4 in picking up his 4th win of the season on Sunday, May 29, as the Rangers got by the Cardinals 14-8.
The Royals won their 7th straight game as they defeated the Bats and Shockers on Sunday. Royals skipper Mark Franklin belted his first career grand slam. The Shockers overcame a disappointing loss to the Royals to beat the Tigers 15-8 after scoring 8 runs in the top of the 9th inning. Shockers' Matt Stiffler almost decapitated the right field light pole with his league-leading 5th home run of the season.
The Fusion opened their season with a pair of wins over the Thunder and the Redlegs. Six different players had home runs for the Fusion, including Kyle England who hit 3 on the day, including a grandslam.
