Rangers Score 6 in the 8th, but Fall in 10.

The Rangers offense was held in check through 7 innings as the Sox lefthander Nathan Kopp pitched 4-hit ball. Joe Staten put the Rangers on the board in the 7th by leading off with an opposite field double. Staten then stole 3rd base and went home on an errant throw by the catcher.

The Rangers bats came alive in the 8th inning off of reliever Brett Kopp scoring 6 times to take a 7-3 lead. Mark Windle got the hitting started by torching a leadoff double to left-center. Jelani Arnold single over the 3rd baseman to put men on the corners with nobody out. Brian Robinson singled in Windle to cut the deficit to one. After a walk to Jonmarc Lippincott, Clint Wolf drove a double to right to score two more runs and give the Rangers their first lead in 4 games. Brent Collinsworth followed with a double, and after a 2-out RBI single from James Robinson, the Rangers were ahead 7-3.

Jacob Robinson started on the mound for the Rangers and matched Kopp through 7 innings striking out 9. After giving up a few runs in the 8th, Jelani Arnold came in for relief. With some questionable umpiring calls throughout the game (I feel like a broken record when I write that phrase), the Sox were able to tie the game up and force extra innings where the Sox eventually won the game.

Mark Windle, Joe Staten, and Brian Robinson each had 2 hits a piece. Clint Wolf and Brent Collinsworth contributed with a pair of RBIs as well.
