ADDIS HONORED AS P.O.W. 2nd A's pitcher in 2011 to win award The Miami Valley Adult Baseball League recognized Matt Addis of the Fairborn Post 526 Athletics as the Milano's/Buffalo Wild Wings Player of the Week for June 13-June 19. In a 6-5 extra-innings victory over the Miami Valley Fusion, Matt struck out 16 batters over 7-1/3 innings of work, allowing only three hits and two earned runs. Addis is a graduate of Fairborn high school and recently pitched for Sinclair Community College. Matt previously won this award in 2009, but he won it with his bat and glove, and not his arm.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK Venters a relief for Sox     Sox lefty Jon Venters entered the game Thursday, June 16 in a 2-1 hole against the Mariners. Venters shut out the Mariners in the 5th, 6th, and 7th innings, allowing the Sox to come back and tie the game at 2-2 and force extras. The Sox ultimately won in 8 innings as Venters picked up the win, striking out 8 batters in 4 innings of relief.
