Rangers Fall in AIA Opener
The Rangers jumped out to a quick 3-0
lead at the end of the first inning with four hits, but Astros ace Brian Girard
scattered a mere two singles over the final 8 innings of work to beat the
Rangers for the first time this season. The Astros won 8-3.
Jacob Robinson led off the first inning for the
Rangers with a fastball to the wrist. After stealing second base, Clint Wolf
singled. After Wolf stole second to put both runners in scoring position, Jonmarc
Lippincott roped a single to right center field for a 2-0 Rangers advantage.
Reis Pearson followed up with a single, and Brad Clark doubled in the gap to
plate Pearson.
Brad Clark took the loss for the Rangers, giving
up 11 hits in 7 innings of work.
