Rangers Lose Game 2 at AIA
The Rangers offensive woes continued
into game two of their double header on Sunday, losing to the Springfield
Indians 8-4.
The Rangers got on the board first on an RBI
single from Jonmarc Lippincott that plated Jared Bradley, who singled earlier
in the first inning. The Indians answered with two runs of their own. Joey
Herren tripled off the right field fence, scoring Danny Colella with the first
run. Phil Beach followed up with an RBI single to left. Herren added a
sacrifice fly in the third to give the Tribe a 3-1 lead. The Rangers added one
run back in the fourth as Clint Wolf tripled and scored on a groundout by
Lippincott.
The Indians scored three times in the bottom of
the fourth and twice in the bottom of the sixth. Brad Clark’s sac fly in the sixth
put the score at 8-3 in favor of the Tribe. The Rangers picked up their final
run in the eighth inning. Bradley singled and Wolf singled. Lippincott’s
grounder to third scored Bradley with the fourth and final run of the game.
Reis
Pearson took the loss, snapping a three-game winning streak. Matt Hood pitched
three scoreless innings of relief.
