7/3/11: 2ND IN HOLIDAY TOURNEY

SOX 2ND IN HOLIDAY TOURNEY
Lost in Championship Game

The Beavercreek Sox traveled down to the outskirts of Cincinnati on Friday, July 1 to participate in a 4th of July wood bat tournament organized by the Cincinnati Flames. The Sox were one of 6 collegiate teams invited to this tournament and have not disappointed yet. The Sox won 3-2 over a team from Yorkville in their first game on Friday and then shut out a very good Champions team (primarily D1 players) in the second game. Chris Bruckman threw the complete game shutout vs. the Champions.
The Sox started Sunday's games with a semifinal matchup with the Cincinnati Talons and squeaked out a 3-1 win. The Sox fell short in the championship losing 7-1 to the host Cincinnati Flames.
