JULY 2-3 RECAPS
Finally No Rainouts!!!

On Saturday, July 2, the Cardinals and Rangers each came away with doubleheader sweeps. The Cardinals took 2 from the Mariners and kept their team within striking distance of first place in the Buckeye Division. The Rangers swept the Redlegs in the "Backyard Battle" as Luke Trubee shut out the Redlegs 2-0 and Rangers' right fielder Josh Cawein hit 2 HRs.
Sunday's games provided some outstanding performances. Three Slammers pitchers combined to no-hit the Tigers in a 5-inning shortened game. The Rangers launched a league-record 9 home runs, but lost 17-16 to the Shockers on a Taylor Hause walk-off single. Redlegs' pitcher Eric Williams struck out 15 Royals' batters in a 12-3 win. Aaron Thacker provided a ton of offense in a 12-10 Blue Jays victory over the Thunder. The Fusion got back on the winning side of things as they run-ruled the Indians 13-1 in 7 innings. The A's took a half-game lead in the Miami Division with an 18-5 win over the Bats. Joey Watson homered and doubled twice for the Athletics.
