| #1 - Fairborn Post 526 Athletics |
| Last Thursday's lighting-canceled game all but ruined the Rangers' chances at surpassing the Athletics (10-3), who have positioned themselves for the top All-Star spot in the Miami Division. The A's control their own destiny. The A's can lock up the top spot with a DH sweep of the Tigers on Sunday. But 1 loss and 2 Rangers wins will drop them out of the top spot. |
| #2 - Beavercreek Sox |
The Sox (11-2) are inching their way closer to the top spot in the rankings as the Beavercreek boys have now won 10 straight heading into a Sunday double-dip with the Thunder. The Sox then take on the Mariners and Shockers on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. With the Mariners game being the lone divisional game left before the All-Star standings lock, that outcome could determine whether or not Jeff Fruhwirth will be coaching in his 5th straight All-Star Game. |
| #3 - Miami Valley Cardinals |
The Cardinals (10-3), tied for the second best record in the MVABL, took a pair of games from the Ohio Mariners over the holiday weekend. The Cards will play a DH on Sunday, July 10 against the Kettering Royals. The Royals won both previous matchups last season against the Redbirds. The Cardinals need to win both games and get some outside help in order to catapult themselves into the top spot in the Buckeye Division.

| #4 - Dayton Rangers |
| The Rangers (10-4) won the coveted "Backyard Battle" with the Redlegs last Saturday, taking a pair of wins from the Camden club. However, the Rangers faltered late in Sunday's affair with the Shockers, losing 17-16 despite a record 9 home runs on the day. The Rangers will take on the Miami Valley Bats in a doubleheader on Sunday. They need to win both games and hope the Tigers continue their magic against the A's to have any hope of leapfrogging the Fairborn squad in the standings. |
| #5 - SD Slammers |
Slammers pitching turned in a stellar performance last weekend, as Justin Dunlap, Cory Bohache, and Kevin Ashworth combined on the 5-inning no-hitter. The second league no-hitter in as many weeks. The Slammers (9-4) will travel to Preble Shawnee this weekend for a DH with the Redlegs. The Slammers won 2 out of 3 games last year against the Redlegs.
