The winner of this game could hold the upper hand at getting the top seed come playoff time.

The Sox (14-3) still hold the best record in the MVABL, but took a tough loss to the Ohio Mariners in a rain-shortened affair. The Sox rebounded with a 12-0 win over the Shockers, securing coach Jeff Fruhwirth's 5th straight coaching appearance in the league's All-Star Game. The Sox will play a DH on Sunday at Rotary Park against the Bats. |

The Slammers (12-4) put up 39 runs in a DH sweep against the Redlegs last Sunday. Kevin Ashworth homered and Cory Bohache had 6 hits on the day. The Slammers then won 10-7 over the Blue Jays on Thursday night to build a 3.5 game lead over the 4th place Mariners. The Slammers have a long day ahead of them as they play the Royals and Cardinals in a split-DH on Sunday. Both games are 9 innings.

| The Rangers (12-4) won their 6th out of their last 7 games by beating the Bats in a DH last Sunday. Luke Trubee (2-0) and Shawn Schmitt (7-1) picked up the wins. Brandon Riley, Zach Carroll, and Ben Schubert each hit HRs on the day. The Rangers travel to Springfield Northwestern in an always-tough battle with the Indians on Sunday. |
