Rangers Sniff Out Sox, 8-1
A three-day, seven inning affair with
the Beavercreek Sox was all it took to give the Dayton Rangers a season series win
over the Sox for the first time since taking 2 of 3 in 2004.
Sunday afternoon saw the Rangers take a 5-1 lead
before mother nature intervened and force a postponement until Tuesday night.
Brad Clark started on Sunday for the Rangers and had one of his better outings
this season. Clark pitched four innings for the win, struck out five, and
allowed only three hits. Matt Hood shut out the Sox on one hit over the final
three innings for his first career save as a Ranger.
Clint Wolf provided the firepower for the Rangers
offensive attack, going 4-for-4 with a triple, his fifth of the season, and 5
RBIs. Joe Staten doubled and scored twice. Jonmarc Lippincott added to his
league-leading RBI total driving in two runners and raising his season output
to 27.
