8/8/11: August 1-7 Recaps
AUGUST 7 RECAPS
Mother Nature Continues Cruel Path
A pop-up monsoon ruined a lot of good DHs on Sunday afternoon. But we did get a handful of games in. The Cardinals scored 3 in their final at-bat to beat the Slammers 3-2, before succumbing to the rain in game 2 and falling 9-5 in 5 innings. The Athletics had no problems with the Thunder in game one, winning 23-1. However, the Thunder rebounded with a 4-2 lead into the fourth inning of game 2 before rain cancelled that one. The Redlegs won 11-1 over the Bats, and had a second win in line in game two, but could only muster 4 innings before the wet stuff hit Camden. The Tigers knocked off the Blue Jays 11-6 at Kettering Fields, before falling to the Mariners 13-4. The Indians and Mariners got two innings in before the downpour hit downtown Dayton. Finally, the Sox got past the Royals 8-5 in extra innings. But the Royals probably wish they didn't use that extra frame, as they held a 5-4 lead over the Sox in game two before the rains ruined their day in the fourth inning.
