Rangers No Match for
Woodpeckers
The Rangers defense contributed with
more errors in each game than the offense supplied with hits. That’s pretty
much a recipe for disaster no matter who the opponents are. The Rangers lost
game 1 of a doubleheader by a score of 17-2 and did not fair any better in the
nightcap losing 17-0.
The Rangers got 3 hits off of game 1 starter Tony
Payne. Joe Staten hit a solo homerun to the opposite field in the 3rd
inning for the 1st run of the game for the Rangers. Jonmarc
Lippincott doubled home the other run in the 6th inning. Scott Sundermeyer singled in the 7th for the 3rd
hit by the Rangers.
The Rangers faced Matt Klaus
in the second game and were unable to plate any runs against the right-hander.
Jonmarc Lippincott, Brian Robinson, Scott Sundermeyer,
and Jacob Robinson all singled in the defeat.
