Royals' Holmberg earns Pitching honor
The Miami Valley Adult Baseball League recognized outfielder Chris Jergens of the Kettering Royals as the Milano's/Buffalo Wild Wings Player of the Week for August 8-14. Chris was 3-for-6 at the plate with a double, two home runs, and six RBIs in a doubleheader sweep of the Dayton Rangers. Jergens, a graduate of Alter high school, played collegiately at Wright State University.
The Royals swept the weekly awards as pitcher Jason Holmberg picked up the Advocare Pitcher of the Week honor by shutting out the Rangers, scattering five hits, walking one and striking out four.
