10/01/06: Woodpeckers Take 2 to Win Championship

The Woodpeckers rode the arm of veteran righty Matt Klaus to defeat the Kettering Royals in game 1 by a score of 12-0. The Woodpeckers come from behind in game 2 to defeat the Royals 6-4. The second game saw a 3-0 Woodpecker advantage slip away after rookie Ben Ailes homered to right field to give the Royals a 4-3 lead. As the score stood 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth, former Wright State Raider Justin Wilson blasted a two-run homerun to win the game. Great championship game by both squads!
