10/10/09: 2009 ALL-MVABL TEAMS

The 2009 All-MVABL teams have been announced. Players at each position were ranked offensively according to an old MABL player ratings formula. The top players at each position earned First Team honors; the next highest at each position received Second Team honors.
Rangers outfielder Clint Wolf landed on the All-MVABL First Team for the fourth year in a row. Thunder catcher Drew York and Indians first baseman John Milliron become the only players in MVABL history to make it on the First Team multiple times with different teams.

STAT LEADERS

Repeat Winners in Statistical Categories

For the second year in the row, we have repeat winners for statistical supremacy. The Indians' Matt Spradlin led the MVABL in strikeouts for the second straight season. John Milliron of the Indians won back-to-back batting titles, this year batting .574, which is the fourth-highest single season average in league history. Thunder catcher Drew York picked up the Extra-Base Hits honor for the second consecutive year, punishing opposing pitchers with 7 home runs, 4 triples, and 11 doubles.
