11/07/05: Woodpeckers Victorious in Fall Classic Championship Game
| The Ohio Woodpeckers dusted off the Miami A's 8-0 this morning for the MABL Fall Classic American Division Championship crown, their second such championship in three years. The Woodpeckers went through their best-ever round robin play finishing with a 3-1 record, including a 9-0 shutout of their championship opponent in Game 3. With three straight victories on Sunday (21-6 over the Long Island White Sox, 5-1 over the St. Louis Thundercats, and 12-4 over the Alanta Reds), coach Chaz DeShayes sent MVABL veteran Matt Klaus to the hill to bring home the victory. Klaus was dominant in his complete game shutout scattering only four hits along the way. More game notes will be added as soon as they become available. Again, Congratulations to the Ohio Woodpeckers on another outstanding tournament run! |
