Ryan received 4 first place votes en route to his first Cy Young award honor. Primarily a reliever at the beginning of the season, the Rangers stretched him out into a starter for the majority of the second half. The former Dayton Dragons pitcher saw action in 10 games and finished with a 3-2 record with 1 save and 1 complete game. Kemp led the league with a 2.00 ERA and was overtaken for the strikeout crown on the final day of the regular season. He finished with 54 Ks in 36 innings pitched.
