Rice Field, Miamisburg, Ohio was the site of the first game of the 2017 season between the Rangers and the Wild Boars.

The Rangers ever relentless in scoring went to work early scoring 2 right away in the first while pitching stood tall and held the Boars scoreless in the bottom of the first. Head Coach Jonmarc Lippencott always has a game plan together for the Boars and was able to hold the Boars scoreless through most of the game with great pitching and some very decent field work by the Ranger's infield and outfield.

The Rangers added to their lead in the 2nd with another run while the Boars managed to push one across of their own. The Rangers added 3 in the 4th and 2 in the 7th and led 9-1 as the Boars came to bat in the 8th after holding the Rangers scoreless in the top half of the 8th. The Boars set to work scoring twice  in the 8th to trail 9-3.

The Boars retired the Rangers without a run in the 9th after Garret Copas snagged a fly ball in left, KJ Jimison  went 5-3 to record the 2nd out, and first baseman Joe Cantrell went to Pitcher Brandon Lucas for the 3rd out.

The Boars came up with their backs against the wall.  Kenny Faulks reached on an error and Grant Mink reached base on a single. Coty Hahn hit the ball back to the pitcher but a throwing/fielding mistake allowed Grant Mink to be safe at 2nd as Coty reached 1st on the fielders choice. Markus Hall then hit a single scoring Faulks and Mink. Brandon Lucas then hit the ball allowing  Coty Hahn to score. Doug Adkins then hit a ball to left field after flirting with the line a couple times that fell for a double  scoring Lucas. Doug Adkins advanced on a past ball and scored on Zach Carroll's single. Carroll was then thrown out attempting to steal and Copas drew a walk.  Greg Pfeiffer then hit a shot into the outfield and Copas wound up on third and Pfeiffer safe at 2nd. Travis Knight grounded out for the 3rd out.  When the dust had settled the Boars had pushed across 6 and tied the score and we were headed to extra innings.

In the 10th,  walks hurt the Boars giving up 2 before recording a strikeout. Then a hit batter in the 10th, and costly hit that allowed the Rangers to score 3 times before the Rangers were retired they now led 12-9.

The Boars started the inning again with Faulks who flied out. Grant Mink got hit by a pitch and Coty Hahn grounds out advancing Mink.  Markus Hall again hits a single scoring Mink but Jackson Millard flies out to end the 10th and give the Rangers the win.

Grant Mink earns defensive player of the game for 1 PO and 2 assist and the snagging of a line drive that was headed for the outfield and possible extra bases and recorded 0 errors.
