Team Anderson defeated Team Robinson 6-1 in a rain-shortened 4-inning contest on September 29th at AIA in Xenia. 

Mark Carpenter took home Offensive MVP honors with his solo home run, two walks and 3 runs scored. Zach Gomia won the Defensive Player of the Game award with his assist from left field to throw out a runner at the plate.

Mike Hartman (Redlegs) had 2 RBIs and Jake Banks (Machine) added an RBI.

Final Score: Team Cantrell 10, Team Anderson 3

Location: Fifth Third Field, Dayton

Offensive MVP: Mookie Holmes (Dayton Indians)

Defensive MVP: Kyle Moyer (Dayton Rangers)

HR Derby Champ: Todd Barhorst (South Dayton Slammers)

Team Cantrell defeated Team Anderson 10-3 on Wednesday night August 28 at Fifth Third Field.  Dayton Indians' Mookie Holmes singled, doubled, and tripled, and drove in a run to take home Most Valuable Player honors. 

Dayton Rangers outfielder Kyle Moyer took home Defensive Player of the Game honors. Redlegs' Aaron Carmack picked up the win.

Matt Seibert (Wild Boars) drove in 2 runs and Markus Hall (Wild Boars) scored three times to lead Team Cantrell. Jerel Bristol (Knights) doubled twice and stole two bases, and Nick Anloague (Royals) had two hits and two RBIs for Team Anderson.


Final Score: Team Reardon 8, Team Anderson 4

Team Reardon knocked off Team Anderson by a score of 8-4. Mark Carpenter went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base  to take home Most Valuable Player honors. 

Mad River Machine pitcher Anthony Nelson picked up the win in relief, not allowing a run over 2 innings of work.

Rangers' Cooper Nolte had two hits to lead Team Anderson, and Kyle Arend of the Redlegs drove in two runs with a triple.

Team Anderson knocked off Team Wilson by a score of 6-3. Mike Hartman of the Camden Redlegs went 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBIs to take home Most Valuable Player honors. 

Dayton Rangers pitcher Joe Becker got the win and Michael Cookson of the Kettering Royals registered the save.

Brehon Perry (Machine), Jake Walters (Expos), and Chris Flaherty (Royals) each had two hits to lead Team Wilson.


Final Score: Team Lippincott 7, Team Robinson 6, 10 inn.

HR Derby Champ: Kyle Weldon (Camden Redlegs)

Wright Knights infielder Glenn Yawger's dribbler drove home Paul Wilson in the bottom of the 10th inning to lead Team Lippincott to a 7-6 extra-innings victory over Team Robinson on Saturday, August 6 at Howell Field.

Todd Barhorst doubled and tripled, and Todd Peck had 4 hits and an RBI. Matt Delbridge got the win with two innings of relief.


2015

Final Score: Buckeye 6, Miami 5

Location: Howell Field, Dayton

Offensive MVP: Ian Huss (Beavercreek Sox)

Defensive MVP: Brandon Howard (Camden Redlegs)

HR Derby Champ: Ben Schubert (Dayton Rangers)

Beavercreek Sox third baseman Ian Huss belted a two-run home run in the first inning to lead the Buckeye Division to a 6-5 win over the Miami Division on Saturday, August 8 at Howell Field.

Mad River Machine outfielder Paul Wilson added a solo home run and earned the save.


Final Score: Buckeye 4, Miami 2

Defensive MVP: Jon Venters (Beavercreek Sox)

HR Derby Champ: Ian Huss (Beavercreek Sox)

The MVABL's best were on display on Saturday, August 9 at Wright State University's Nischwitz Stadium.

The day started off with the Home Run Derby in a stiff wind blowing in which ultimately resulted in a low-scoring affair. Ian Huss of the Beavercreek Sox beat out Miami Valley Thunder's Ryan Callison 3-2 in the final round. 

The Buckeye Division bested the Miami Division 4-2. Jon Venters carried a depleted Buckeye pitching staff to toss six shutout innings, striking out 9 to win Defensive Player of the Game honors. Jeff Tetrault of the Wright Knights was the only Buckeye player to have multiple hits, going 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI to win the Offensive Player of the Game award.

HR Derby Champ: Shawn Haffner (Fairborn Athletics)

A very competitive game and an exciting HR Derby finish proved for a great afternoon of baseball out at AIA in Xenia.

The day started off with the Home Run Derby that went to a Sudden Death. Shawn Haffner (Athletics), literally lit up the scoreboard, and bested Brandon Howard (Redlegs) 10-9 to win the Derby. 

The Buckeye Division squeaked out a 5-3 win over the Miami Division. Matt Stiffler's 3-for-4 performance and solo home run earned Offensive Player of the Game honors. Jeremy Wylie's over-the-head catch at second base earned him the Defensive Player of the Game award.

HR Derby Champ: Joey Everhart (Fairborn Fury)

The Buckeye Division bested the Miami Division 7-5 in the closest All-Star Game outcome in recent memory. Springfield Indians infielder Paul Little had a big night as the rookie earned Offensive Player of the Game honors with three hits, including a home run and 5 RBIs. Matt Klaus of the Ohio Mariners earned Defensive Player of the Game honors with four innings off the mound, earning the win. Fury infielder Joey Everhart was the HR Derby King belting 5 longballs in round two (7 overall).

 


MVABL All-Stars defeat COMABL in 10

Congrats to the MVABL who defeated the COMABL 5-4 in 10 innings on Saturday at Time Warner Stadium in Dayton. Slammers pitcher Micah Wilson tossed 6 2/3 scoreless innings for the win. Mariners SS Cody Ridinger had a two-run double, and Shockers OF Matt Stiffler had an RBI single and scored on a wild pitch. Casey McGrew of the Columbus Red Devils launched a game-tying 3-run HR in the top of the ninth to force extra innings. In the bottom of the tenth, Rangers SS Jonmarc Lippincott singled home Shawn Haffner with the walk-off victory!


2011

Final Score: Miami 9, Buckeye 4

Location: Fifth Third Field

Offensive MVP: Matt Stiffler (Warren County Shockers)

Defensive MVP: Jacob Robinson (Camden Redlegs)

HR Derby Champ: Aaron Lawson (Springfield Indians)

The Miami Division avenged last year's loss to the Buckeye Division by winning 9-4 on Sunday, July 31 at Fifth Third Field.

Warren County Shockers centerfielder Matt Stiffler became the first rookie since 2008 to win the game's Most Valuable Player award. Stiffler went 3-for-5 with a home run, double and 3RBIs. Camden Redlegs right fielder Jacob Robinson became the first player to win the Defensive Player of the Game honor on multiple occasions. Jake also won the award in 2007 as a shortstop in the All-Star game.

Springfield Indians' Aaron Lawson won the HR Derby as he launched 4 long balls into the Dragons' Lair. Lawson is the second Indians player to win the Derby (Joey Herren, 2007).


2010

Final Score: Buckeye 11, Miami 8

Location: Fifth Third Field

Offensive MVP: David Moss (Miami Valley Thunder)

Defensive MVP: Brian Duffy (Kettering Royals)

HR Derby Champ: Chris Jergens (Kettering Royals)

Sox coach Jeff Fruhwirth made it 4 straight All-Star game victories as the Buckeye Division won 11-8 on Sunday, August 1 at Fifth Third Field. Son Jeremey connected on 3 hits and Aaron Thacker drove in two runs to lead the Buckeye squad.

Despite being on the losing end of the ballgame, Thunder shortstop David Moss went 4-for-5 with 5 RBIs for the Miami Division and completed the first cycle in All-Star Game history to bring home Offensive Player of the Game honors.

Royals shortstop Brian Duffy was rewarded for diving in the hole and throwing out a speedy runner, and was named the Defensive Player of the game.

HR Derby Champ: Josh Jaynes (South Dayton Slammers)

Sox coach Jeff Fruhwirth made it three straight All-Star game victories as his American squad won 10-6 on Sunday, August 9 at AIA.

Taylor Hause (left) went 3-for-5 with 3RBIs and a home run to bring home All-Star Game MVP honors.

In lieu of no outstanding plays on the field this year, "Superfan" Steve Dunlap was rewarded for his bare-hand grab of a foul ball in the stands as the Defensive Play of the game.


MVABL All-Stars defeat COMABL 14-7

Co-MVPs Drew York (Thunder) and Taylor Hause (Shockers) each belted a grand slam in a 14-7 victory in the inaugural MVABL-COMABL All-Star game in Columbus on Saturday, August 8.


2008

Final Score: American 16, National 0

Defensive MVP: Dustin Lacy (Beavercreek Sox)

HR Derby Champ: Jon Dalton (Beavercreek Sox)

The American Team scored in six of the nine innings to squeak out a 16-0 win over the National Team on Sunday, August 10 at Athletes in Action Sports Complex.

Beavercreek Sox third baseman Brennen Glass became the second straight reserve player to win the game's Most Valuable Player award. Glass went 3-for-3 at the plate with a double, triple and 2 RBIs.

Sox relief pitcher Dustin Lacy took home the Defensive Player award with three shutout innings on the mound, striking out five batters.

Sox starting pitcher Wes Rehmert picked up the win.

Earlier in the day, Sox first baseman Jon Dalton bested the Royals' Tim Peffley in sudden death of the 2008 Home Run Derby.


2007

Final Score: National 11, American 4

Offensive MVP: Chris Tabler (Beavercreek Sox)

Defensive MVP: Jacob Robinson (Dayton Rangers)

HR Derby Champ: Joey Herren (Springfield Indians)

The National Team scored eight runs in the final four innings to pull away from the American squad by a score of 11-4 on Sunday at Athletes in Action Sports Complex.

Beavercreek Sox outfielder Chris Tabler became the first reserve player to win the game's Most Valuable Player award. Tabler went 3-for-3 at the plate with 2 RBIs and a double.

Dayton Rangers shortstop Jake Robinson took home the Defensive Player award with two outstanding diving plays at short.

Sox starting pitcher Tim Antil picked up the win with three scoreless innings of work.


2005

Final Score: American  13, National 3

Location: Rotary Park, Beavercreek

Offensive MVP: Gabe Thomas (Ohio Woodpeckers)

Defensive MVP: Toby Stewart (Ohio Woodpeckers)

HR Derby Champ: Chris McCaslin (Beavercreek Sox)

The American Team scored 7 runs in the first inning as they rolled to a 13-3 win over the National squad.

The game's Most Valuable Player went to the Woodpeckers' Gabe Thomas who went 3-for-4 at the plate with a single, double, triple, and walk. He also drove in 2 runs and scored twice.

Teammate Toby Stewart took home the game's Best Defensive Player award with 4 innings of quality work on the mound picking up the victory for the American team.


2004

Final Score: National 15, American 10

Location: Miamisburg High School

Offensive MVP: Ron Runyon (Kettering Royals)

Defensive MVP: Mike Leach (Dayton Astros)

HR Derby Champ: Bryan Braswell (Centerville Bargos)

The Rangers' Clint Wolf and the Royals's Ron Runyon each homered to propel the National Team to a 15-10 win over the American Team.

The game's Most Valuable Player went to Ron Runyon who had 2 hits, including a home run, scored twice and drove in 4 runs.

Mike Leach of the Astros took home the game's Best Defensive Player award with 3 assists including a double play.
