Howell Field, Dayton Ohio.

The Double Header season opened for the Boars who hosted the Knights in game 1 of DH at Howell Field. Both teams made it through 3 innings with little action and no runs scored, in the 4th the Knights Conner Bishop had a base hit and made to 3rd but was left stranded as the Boars defense and pitching shut down the attack.

The Boars lead off hitter in the home 4th, Jimmy Herold singled and advanced to 3rd on a throwing error that allowed Gary North to 2nd. Matt Seibert hit a double to the gap, and Sully Minner hit a single driving in North and Seibert and the Boars were on the Board at 3 to 0.

In the 5th The Boars added 2 more when Markus Hall singled, followed by Dylan Pletsch's single, Hall went to 3rd,  on a sacrifice fly by Herold, Pletsch then stole 2nd.  Gary North drove in 2 with an RBI single Boars lead was 5 to 0.

In the 6th the Knights broke up the shutout when Tom Ricciardi, drove a ball over the left field fence, for the score of 5 to 1 and that proved to be the final in the game. as the Boars went silent in the 6th and the game ended on a fly out by Alec Hutzleman to CF, Jacob Cooper snagged it to end the game.

After an awards ceremony for presentations of the 2018 team awards to Jimmy Herold and Dylan Pletsch. The Boars went on to play visitors in the late game. They wasted little time in staking  their pitcher to 5 run lead in the 1st. Hall pulled a BB and avoided the DP on a F/C from Pletsch.  Herold singled scoring Hall,  and was driven in by Minner along with Seibert and North. Minner was then driven in by Pfeiffer on a double, when it was over the Boars had given starting Pitcher a 5 run lead to work with.

Veteran right handed pitcher,  P.J. Dobbins took the mound. Things started a little rocky in his first appearance of the season, after a base hit and an error from 3B, Sid Sirinvasan and another single scored 2 runs the defense clamped down with an, FO-7 and a 5-3 and Sully Minner at first, recording the 3rd out un-assisted. The Boars lead was cut to 3,  at 5 to 3.

Neither team scored again until the 5th when the Boars CF, Jacob Cooper doubled and scored, off a Dylan Pletsch double, Pletsch then stole 3rd and scored on Gary Norths double. The Boars had reclaimed the 2 runs given up and now led by 5 again,  7 to 2.

Dobbins had settled and was rolling along with minimal hiccups now. Dobbins gave way to Brandon Lucas in the 6th, and the Knights managed to scratch out another run to give them 3. Rich Navratil gave way to Zach Carroll on the mound and the Boars added 2 more in the 6th and 4 in the visiting 7th.

After Lucas struck out the first batter in the home half of the 7th he issued a walk to Jarel Bristol, who was caught stealing in the 3rd inning and thrown out by catcher Jimmy Herold, and slap tag by 2nd baseman Markus Hall,  Bristol had came up hobbling a little after the attempt, but still always dangerous. Alec Hutzleman grounded into the 6-4-3 double play to end the game.
