Boars sweep Indians but drop one to Royals

July 7th 2019

Carlisle High School, Carlisle Ohio.

The Boars arrived in Carlisle to play the Indians and came away with 2 wins in the heat of the July day. Zac Carey picked up his 3rd win on the season tossing a 2 hit shutout to the Indians who's hits came of the bat of Aaron "Mookie" Holmes.

The Boars won game #1, 17 to 0 with Carey picking up the complete game win, with 11 K's on the day.  Sully Minner was 3 for 3 and Jimmy Herold went 4 for 4 both driving in 2 RBI's on the day

In game #2 the Boars red hot bats were even hotter as the Boars first 7 hitters scored and at the end of their half had scored 10 runs.

Gary North took the mound and was picking up his 2nd win on the season

Markus Hall came in in a non save situation and retired the Tribe in order to end the game with the Boars winning 20 to 0.

Brian Erbe was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI's while, Markus Hall 2 for 3 with 1 RBI and a double.

But what a different a day makes, The Boars went to Oak Grove for the final night game against the Royals, and the Royals had a few tricks left up their sleeve.

Dobbins was handed his first loss of the season after pitching a great outing 2 weeks prior against the Royals. The BOars bats cooled off fast and the Boars hitters never recorded a hit till the 5th inning when Colin Minner got a single and after left fielder Zac Kirby was hit by pitch, Dylan Pletsch drove a double to the fence at Oak Grove , scoring 2 runs. Pletsch stole 3rd but never made it home as the Royals retired the Boars off a short pop fly.

The Boars managed to get 2 extra runs but it was not enough to overcome the Royals lead and the Boars fell 14 to 4 on the Tuesday night game.

Dobbins took the loss only lasting 3 innings before the umpire decided his night was over. North and Kirby finished the game

Colin Minner scored twice once on a hit and once on a walk , Pletsch managed only a double and 2 RBI's

The Boars head back to Carlisle Sunday to take on the Rangers in a DH at 1pm and 3:30 come on down and check out the teams in July.
