The Redlegs and Knights completed two innings of baseball back on July 19th before heavy rains forced a suspension with Camden leading 9-2. The game was finally resumed on Sunday at 5:00pm at Action Sports Center.
Before the suspension, the Redlegs racked up 9 runs in the first two innings. Jacob Robinson and Mike Hartman singled back to back with one out before Brandon Howard reached on a fielder’s choice. James Robinson then knocked in a run with a base hit. After a runner reached on an error, Cameron Svarda roped a bases clearing double off of the left field fence. The second started with a walk to Matt Morrison, followed by a two-run shot from Jacob Robinson. Brandon Howard walked and James Robinson doubled, then Jesse Jones brought a run home with a sacrifice fly. Another run scored on a balk.
Then came the rains and a break in the action, which was exactly what the doctor ordered for the Knights. The Knights would proceed to rattle of 17 runs in the remaining 5 frames and would eventually win the game by a final score of 19-13 in an epic comeback. The Redlegs could only muster 4 runs over that span, Jesse Jones knocked two in with two separate singles, Jacob Robinson added an RBI double, and Mike Hartman contributed an RBI single.
