The Redlegs recently wrapped up a game that was suspended against the North Dayton Nightmare way back on 6/21 due to a deluge that arrived in middle of the 5th inning.

The first part of the game was largely controlled by Camden.  Brandon Howard drove in the games first run when he singled in Matt Morrison who started the game off with a base hit.  They added 3 more in the 3rd when Matt Morrison doubled to start the frame, followed by a walk to Jacob RobinsonMike Hartman then deposited both runners with a double.  Camden would pick up another run on a passed ball to make it 4-0.

Kevin Campbell started off hot, striking out the side in the first as well as strikeouts in the 2nd and 3rd.  But the Nightmare finally found an answer to Campbell in the fourth when they used 3 consecutive hits combined with a Redleg error that resulted in 3 runs crossing the plate.

Leading 4-3, Camden came out hot in the top of the 5th.  Jacob Robinson, Mike Hartman, and Brandon Howard all walked to load the bases and Brad Malott was able to plate a run by hitting a grounder that was too hot to handle for the Nightmare defense.  James Robinson then worked a bases loaded walk before Matt Mattice drove a couple home with a double.  After a strikeout, the rains came and washed the game out, and after a little over a month it was finally made up on Tuesday 8/4.

When the game resumed, the Nightmare were quickly able to record the final out of the inning without incurring any more damage.  Still, Camden opened the new day with a comfortable 8-3 lead.

Campbell returned to pick up where he left off, and he was stellar over the final four frames of the game.  He allowed just 2 base runners and struck out 5 as he blanked the Machine for the remainder of his outing.  It took a over a month, but he was able to turn in a complete game victory while racking up 11 strikeouts and allowing just the two earned runs.

Not that he needed any more run support, but Camden piled on by scoring 9 more times over the final four frames as they cruised to an 18-3 run rule victory.  Brad Malott contributed a two-run single in the 6th, followed by an RBI double by Matt Mattice.  Matt Morrison added an RBI double in the 7th.  In the 8th and final frame, James Robinson, Jesse Jones, Cameron Svarda, and Matt Redman all knocked in runs for the Redlegs.
