The Redlegs got off to a rough start in 2021.  Not necessarily out of the norm, Camden is typically a slow starting team and now are 5-7 in opening day games in franchise history.  Still, the 21-3 run rule loss marks one of the team’s drearier opening day performances.

Mike Hartman drove in the lone run, scoring Jacob Robinson who had singled to lead off the game in the 1st inning.  Both Robinson and newcomer Cody Saraco-Polner scored by way of passed balls in the 3rd inning.  Saraco-Polner turned in a solid debut after being taken 3rd overall in this year’s MVABL draft, going 2 for 2 with a double.  Brad Malott and Kyle Arend picked up the other two hits for Camden.

The Redlegs look to rebound against the Slammers next Sunday (4/18) at 4:00pm at Howell Field in Dayton.
