A tale of 2 complete opposite games for both clubs

May 2nd 2021, The Wild Boars of Washington Twp., traveled to the Home of the Camden Redlegs Sunday, Middletown Madison. The Boars wanting to add to the win total and hoping to put distance between them and the idle Slammers.

The visiting Boars missing some key starters for game 1, and yet still started strong for rookie pitcher Matt Yates, making his 2nd start. Jacob Greve singled to start, and after a K by Holmes, Jason Combs singled and opened the gates. after a couple miscues, by the Redlegs allowing North and Herold to reach, Sully Minner delivered an RBI single, Yates helped his own cause by adding an RBI single and the Boars were firmly on top 6 to 0.

But the Redlegs are not going to just lie down. Leadoff hitters Jacob Robinson, and Jesse Jones reached base and were brought around by a Kyle Arend double. Arend was brought around by Mike Hartman. The Boars lead had shrank to 6 to 3.

The Boars who had batted around in the 1st, and now Jason Combs was back up, and he delivered another single. Combs scored on Gary North's RBI double, and North was brought in by Jimmy Herold on his double The Boars up by 5, at 8 to 3.

Game 2 watched the complete other end of the spectrum for the Boars offensively. Nick Stewart took the mound and hoped to go 3 and 0, but it was not in the cards today. Jacob Robinson led off with a single, and after a couple outs Mike Hartman reached on a FC, but Brandon Howard launched a Home Run over the short porch at Madison and the Redlegs were up 3 to 0.

New Redlegs pitcher Tyler Eaton would not need anymore. The Boars hit the Ball but it was right at the Redlegs fielders. Eaton held the Boars scoreless through 5 innings. only Jacob Greve with a single, and Matt Seiberts RBI, single. were the highlights from the Offense. Except for Markus Hall who lit off a double but got caught in a rundown from 1 to 5.

The Redlegs would add 4 more runs along the way along with a Brandon Howard double and a Jacob Robinson triple. Redlegs would win 7 to 1.

Jacob Greve takes Boars Offesive Player of the Game scoring the solo run for the Boars and adding a single.
