Camden topped the Diamondbacks back on August 6th by a final score of 16-0, winning by rune rule after 5 innings.  The Redlegs plated 3 runs in the first inning highlighted by an RBI single from Max Ramsey and a 2-run double off the bat of Evan Koogler.  Camden then sent 12 men to the plate in an 8-run 2nd inning to push the advantage to 11-0.  James Robinson and Max Ramsey each contributed RBI singles while Jacob Robinson provided an RBI double in the frame.  After a quiet 3rd, the Redlegs piled 5 more on in the 4th.  Evan Koogler struck again, this time with a bases clearing triple.  James Robinson and Matt Mattice each pitched in with run scoring base hits to put Camden over the run rule threshold.  Jacob Robinson and Cody Saraco-Polner each swiped a bag in the victory.

Chris Flaherty turned in an excellent performance on the mound, going 4 shutout innings on the way to picking up his first victory in 2023.  He allowed just 3 hits and struck out two batters in the effort.  Evan Koogler then made his first appearance on the mound, turning in a scoreless 5th to close out the game.

Two days later the Redlegs took on the Miami Valley River Bandits.  Due to challenges with field conditions at the original location, the game was moved to Carlisle High School which left the Redlegs shorthanded, only have 8 players available for the game.  Things started off poorly for the home team as the River Bandits used some seeing-eye singles and took advantage of a few fielding errors to take a commanding 5-0 lead in the 1st inning.  Camden chipped away at the lead in the bottom half of the 1st when Jacob Robinson walked to start the inning and later scored on a base hit by Evan Koogler.

Ben Schooler took over on the mound in the 2nd and quieted the River Bandit offense, giving the Redlegs a chance to continue to chip away at the lead.  They did just that, scoring once in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th to close the gap at a 5-4 deficit.  James Robinson produced the run in the 3rd with an RBI double, scoring Evan Koogler who had walked to start the inning.  Koogler drove in Matt Mattice in the 4th, and Koogler again provided an RBI in the 5th by knocking in Ben Schooler.

The floodgates then opened in the 6th as Camden sent 14 batters to the plate and pounded out 12 runs as they jumped out to a 16-5 lead.  Jacob Robinson and Matt Mattice each batted twice in the inning and drove in runs in each at bat, Mattice adding a 2-run double.  Justin Lynch and Evan Koogler each singled in a run, and James Robinson picked up two RBI with a base hit.

Jacob Robinson, Ben Schooler, and Matt Mattice each swiped bases in the win.

After taking the mound in the 2nd, Ben Schooler allowed only 1 base runner over the remainder of the game, which was a walk in the 4th.  He racked up 9 strikeouts and earned his 5th victory of the season.

The Redlegs then fell to the Orioles 13-9 last Sunday.  James Robinson drove in 4 runs in the loss, while Matt Mattice drove in 2.  Ben Schooler, Mike Hartman, and Evan Koogler each drove in a run as well.  Matt Mattice stole 4 more bases, while Justin Lynch and Jacob Robinson also each notched a swiped bag.  Mattice now has 19 stolen bases on the season, just two shy of the Redlegs single season record that he set back in 2014.  Evan Koogler pitched well again in relief, tossing 3 innings while allowing just 1 hit and 1 earned run.
