The 2023 season winds down to just a handful of games and make-ups. The Wild Boars had a reset with the sister club the Orioles. The O’s took the opener from the Boars early on in a weeknight showdown at Howell and the Boars were looking for some payback. It took the form of Dylan Bower on the mound against the Orioles Bower as of late has been dependable, and today would be NO exception. As Bower would hold the Orioles to 1 hit and 1 run across 7 innings while striking out 10 hitters.

On offense the Boars were just a little flat getting hits as they came the lone exception on that was Micah Stewart, the speedster had a single a double and a BB, He scored the 3rd run the Boars needed from 2nd after knocking in the 2nd run which was all the Boars needed today in game 1.

Stewart would take top Offensive Honors as Offensive Player of the Game going 2 for 2 with a BB and a run scored.

Defensive Player of the Game had to go to Dylan Bower, 7 innings CG 1 Hit, 10 Ks

Game 2 would get away from the Orioles as well, Srinvasan shut the Orioles down in the 1st and Bower singled and scored after swiping 2nd. The Birds would tie it in the 3rd, but the Boars bats would come back as Scarberry, Stewart and Hall would score to put the Boars on top 4 to 1 in the bottom of the 3rd.

In the 4th Sid would K the first 2 batters and after a BB, John Rosenmayer, grounded to first and the ball hopped wildly but Ryan Earley snagged it with the glove and the tagged the base. The Boars bats woke up hard in the 4th as Brandon Pletsch hit a ball that still hasn’t landed. Micah Stewart launched one that cleared the bases as well as the fence near the goal post at Carroll. The Boars had extended to 9 to 1 lead.

The Orioles would counter in the 6th inning, scoring twice after an error to draw to 9 to 3, but the Boars would bounce right back with 3 after Ryan Earley singled, Bower would walk, Stewart would single, and Hall would walk, and Holmes would bring in 2 with a single as the Boars pushed the lead to 12 to 3.

It would end with Sid striking out the last batter and earning the win.

Sid Srinvasan would take the complete game, 7 innings 3 Runs 1 earned, 11 Ks.
