Grizzlies hold off invasion from Aliens for 1st Win

Mountjoy and Luersman launch an Offensive on the Aliens

Sunday April 14th at Schoolhouse Park, the 0 and 1 Aliens landed to face the 0 and 1 Grizzlies.  The Aliens went on the attack first sending 2 men home with RBIs from Flanigan and Vernon.  While the Grizzlies chipped away most of the day.

The Aliens would not score again until the 7th inning, while the Grizzles added 1 in the 1st, 4  in the 4th to take the lead 5 to 2. And 1 in the 5th to lead 6 to 2. The Aliens would land 3 in the 7th to pull within 1 at 6 to 5. But the Grizzlies 7th was just as productive led by Anthony Mountjoy with 2 RBIs and Derek Luersman, Launching a 2 run HR. Mountjoy would have 4 RBIs on the day. 

The Grizzlies doubled their score 12 to but the Aliens would come right back with 3 more to close within 4. Jack McKenzie was brought on to pitch and was able to stop the Aliens attack with a K and 2 runners on. He collected the Save with a perfect 9th inning fanning 3 batters.

The Grizzlies earned their 1st win in hold on style as they look to go for as they welcome the Diamondbacks to Schoolhouse next week..
