Ben Wischer Grand Slam Lifts Boars to 2 and 1

Sunday April 28th, Schoolhouse Park in Centerville.

The Camden Redleg's welcomed the Washington Twp. Wild Boars for a single game in Centerville Ohio. The Redleg’s starting off hot this year winning their first 3 games while the Boars were 1-1 and a little sporadic.

The Boars wasted little time jumping out to a 1 to 0 lead as Markus Hall was driven home on F/C by Mike Wischer III, The Redleg’s countered in the 2nd when Mike Hartman reached on an error and came home after another error and a single from Kevin Campbell.

The Boars would retake the lead in the 3rd when Brandon Bower ripped a double and an HBP to brother Dylan, Matt Seibert walked and Ben Wischer did the damage with Grand Slam to left through the trees, it was Wischer's first HR as a member of the Boars. To put the Boars up by 4 runs at 5 to 1.

But the Camden Crew was not going to go away that easy as they mounted a 3-run comeback led by the big bat of Max Ramsey who countered with a HR of his own to the trees in Centerfield. The Boars clung to a 1 run lead as New Boars Pitcher Anthony West got into a little trouble in the 3rd in his 1st outing.

Dylan Bower was brought in to close the wound with a pop up to 1st base. Bower then went on to pitch the next 2 and 2/3. The Boars then went on to push more runs by adding 5 runs in the 4th and 1 in the 5th and another run in the 6th as the Boars totaled 12 runs. The Redleg's would add 1 more run in the 7th as Ryan Earley was brought in to finish it. Earley through the last 2 innings as he allowed some runners on but was able to close out in his 2nd outing of the season.

Offensive Player of the Game goes to Ben Wischer as belted 2 doubles drove in 5 RBIs, and his Grand Slam HR, He also managed to steal a base early in the 1st.

Defensive Player of the Game goes to Matt Seibert SS, with 6 assists. But an Honorable mention goes to Markus Hall as the Boars Senior Capt. made a diving stop that even caught him by surprise. And to Dylan Bower CF who ran a mile to track down a fly ball made the catch, lost his footing.

The Boars will return to Schoolhouse on Sunday May 5th to take on the Mariners in a DH at 12pm.
