The South Dayton Slammers and Dayton Stars met up for a DH at Bellbrook HS this past Sunday in the first ever meeting between the two clubs.

Mark Hadaya made his first start of the season and pitched well going all 6 innings for the complete game in the 15-0 Slammers game one win.  The Slammers scored a run in every inning and were up 9-0 after three innings.

Darren Himsworth stayed hot with three hits, including a double, with three runs.  Rick Anderson also had three hits, with a double and three RBI’s.  Newcomer Alex Murphy chipped in with a single and a double and two runs.

Hadaya finished with 10 K’s and allowed two hits for the win.

Murphy was sent to the mound to make his Slammers’ pitching debut and pitched great as he went four innings and didn’t allow a hit with 8 K’s, all in a row, with two ending the first inning and six more in innings two and three.

After going up 2-0 in the top of the first inning , the Slammers got things going in the top of the third inning.  Dan Barhorst hit a one out home run and Murphy followed with a laser shot to dead center field for back to back home runs and two more runs crossed the plate for the 6-0 lead.  Five runs in the fourth inning and 9 runs in the fifth inning rounded out the scoring in the Slammers’ 20-0 victory.  Dan Barhorst homered again and also tripled for the three hit game and Taylor Hause singled and doubled and had 4 RBI’s.  Jake Dodson went the final scoreless fifth inning.
