Lucas Picks up complete game and 2nd win

The Stars were hot as they came into Boars field Sunday to take on the Wild Boars in a double header at Belmont High School home of the Boars. The Boars struck first in the Top of the 3rd with 3 runs led by a hit Keinan Smith and followed by Boars All Star Zach Carroll and then a double by All Star  Doug Adkins, Adkins later scored on an RBI single by Zephrey Merchant. The Boars were threatening more with bases loaded but a steal attempt went wrong and the Stars managed to stop the Boars there.

The Stars countered with 2 of their own in the home part of the 3rd when catcher Dan Nordin sailed a pick off attempt into left field allowing 2 unearned runs to score. The Boars added 1 run in the top of the 5th and  Lucas was steady as always as he continued unshaken by the mistake in the 3rd retiring the Stars in the 4th and the side in order in the 5th. The lead was lost to the Stars in the 6th by a walk to SS Ryan Scanlan and a hit by Nobu Asai, Ron Sheppard and Chris Campbell each got hits and later scored for a total of 4 runs. Lucas then Struck out Liddy but lost a pitch and hit Coty Hahn and walked Pitcher Jack Washburn Before Striking out Nate Harewood.

Zach Carrol led off the 7th with a double and scored when Doug Adkins hit his second double of the day Merchant then popped up to left field but was too shallow to advance Adkins. Chase Coy then doubled to score Adkins and tie the game at 6. Coy was advanced to 3rd on a sacrifice bunt by 1st baseman Joe Cantrell and Dan Nordin then hit him in with a single. Nordin went to 2nd on a passed ball and took 3rd on a stolen base and scored on a single by Travis Denkenberger, Denkenberger stole 2nd and was sent home to try to score but was called out after a base hit by Keinon Smith and  a relay throw to home was right on target.

Lucas went back to the hill to finish the game with a 2 run lead, he got John Rutherford to pop out to Trent Sheaf in right field and Ryan Scanlan to pop up on a hard charge by Center Fielder Doug Adkins and finished it with a strike out on Asai his 10th of the game.

Lucas earns his 2nd win of the season a Boars record and had 10 strikeouts and 1 save on the season and is Defensive Player of the game.

Doug Adkins was Offensive player of the game along with Chase Coy, Adkins went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI's and 3 Runs and 2 Doubles, and Coy went 3 for 3 with 3 RBI's 1 run and 1 double.

The Boars then went on to play the Stars in game 2 of the Double header.
