Congratulations to Nick Lyle of the Southern Ohio Stars, On August 7, 2022, the Southern Ohio Stars Southpaw earned his 2nd win and 2nd win of his teams franchise. Nick tied an MVABL record by striking out 19 Dodgers batters as the Stars bested the Dodgers 7 to 3.

Nick ties Matt Spradlin who struck out 19 Thunder hitters, and Matt Klaus who struck out 19 Rangers in the 2003 Championship game. A Big Congratulations for Nick Lyle of the Southern Ohio Stars.

Southern Ohio Stars Defeats Camden Redlegs Despite Allowing 4-Run Inning

Stars collected seven hits and Camden Redlegs had eight in the high-scoring affair.

Southern Ohio Stars weathered a push by Camden Redlegs in the seventh inning where Southern Ohio Stars coughed up four runs, but Southern Ohio Stars still won 9-6 on Sunday.  Camden Redlegs offense in the inning was led by #7, #11, and #9, all driving in runs in the inning.

Stars collected seven hits and Camden Redlegs had eight in the high-scoring affair.

Southern Ohio Stars opened up scoring in the second inning.  Nicholas Antonides's sac fly scored one run for Stars.

Stars scored five runs in the fourth inning.  Stars offense in the inning was led by Nathan Pfeiffer, Carter Lane, Antonides, and Alan Dotson, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Jackson Lightcap earned the victory on the hill for Stars. The hurler surrendered six runs on seven hits over six and a third innings, striking out 12 and walking one.  Nick Lyle threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.  Lyle recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Southern Ohio Stars.

#5 took the loss for Camden Redlegs. The bulldog allowed two hits and one run over three innings, striking out two.

#14 started the game for Camden Redlegs. undefined allowed four hits and four runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out three

Southern Ohio Stars tallied seven hits.  Pfeiffer, Antonides, and Dotson each collected multiple hits for Southern Ohio Stars.  Dotson, Antonides, and Pfeiffer all had two hits to lead Southern Ohio Stars.

Camden Redlegs totaled eight hits in the game.  #11 and #33 each managed multiple hits for Camden Redlegs.  Camden Redlegs didn't commit a single error in the field. #9 had the most chances in the field with five.

2022 expansion draft

The Miami Valley Adult Baseball League held its expansion Draft 2022 on Sunday. Expansion teams The Beavercreek Orioles, The Darke County Dodgers, and the 2nd year Southern Ohio Stars had a pool of players to choose from.

The Orioles started by selecting Max Gonzalez and Elijah Engermann as well as making some roster moves with the Wild Boars for veteran depth. The Orioles also signed former Nightmare Coach Kyle Evans from free agency to serve as Asst, Mgr. player.

The Dodgers added C, Matt Dies, Josh Fulcomer, Caron Wilson, Austin Sears and Anthony Quach to the roster.

The Stars picked up Aaron Hernandez, Christian Thomas, Markevious Sneed, and Jackson Lightcap,

Other players will be added through invites to practices and games congratulations to all those chosen and those yet to be chosen. The MVABL League draft will be held on March 6, 2022 as we get ready for opening day on April 3, 2022.
